Reseller Ratings

Reseller Ratings is one of the first places I stop when I go shopping online.

First of all, and most importantly, it lists ratings and reviews for over 20,000 businesses and stores. When trying out a new Ebay seller or online business it pays to find out what experience other folks have had with them, and this is a good starting point.

Secondly, it offers a price comparison service, where you can enter what you want to buy and it returns a list of sellers, their prices, and their ratings.

Their ethics policy is outstanding:

  1. We do not remove reviews simply because we're asked to do so. Not for any amount of money or for any advertiser or sponsor, ever. There are many ratings sites out there that either delete bad reviews from paying sponsors upon request, or post paid recommendations for sponsors, and you should be aware of them. ResellerRatings does not. Reviews are only disabled if they don't comply with our published terms (for instance, if a non-customer writes a review) and even then, we contact the reviewer and ask them to bring their review into compliance where possible.
  2. We do not edit, censor, block, or moderate reviews of any retailer for any reason. If you write a review, it gets posted, subject to our terms of use policy.
  3. Creating an account at our site lets you edit your reviews later if you choose to, and lets a retailer send you a message to help you or resolve any issues you may have. It also makes it much harder for retailers to write fake reviews, and much easier to detect it when they do. We won't spam you, send you marketing emails, or sell or otherwise provide your email address to anyone.
  4. Retailers cannot opt-out from ResellerRatings. Retailers are added to our site by customers, and cannot be removed unless the retailer has zero reviews and/or is out of business.
  5. Reviews can only be written by real customers. It's FREE for retailers to flag reviews for verification (we will seek to obtain proof of the reviewer's order) or for violations in our terms of use. It's FREE for retailers to use our exit survey to solicit reviews, get email alerts of new reviews, and to post public replies in response to reviews.
