The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the nonprofit trade association for the firearms industry. Its mission is to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports. Formed in 1961, NSSF has a membership of more than 4,000 manufacturers, distributors, firearms retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmen's organizations and publishers.
Students for Concealed Carry on Campus is a national, non-partisan, grassroots organization comprised of over 40,000 college students, professors, college employees, parents of college students, and concerned citizens who believe that holders of state-issued concealed handgun licenses should be allowed the same measure of personal protection on college campuses that current laws afford them virtually everywhere else. SCCC has members in all fifty states and the District of Columbia.
The National Association for Gun Rights, often referred to as "NAGR", was founded to assist the growing movement of pro-Second Amendment organizations, especially state-level gun rights groups. NAGR's strategy is simple: make the enemies of our firearms freedoms pay for every inch. While many so-called "gun rights groups" work to curry favor with politicians and the media, NAGR is working aggressively to hold politicians accountable and to put a stop to gun control. They maintain a blog almost daily.
Gun Owners of America (GOA) is a non-profit lobbying organization formed in 1975 to preserve and defend the Second Amendment rights of gun owners. GOA sees firearms ownership as a freedom issue. GOA was founded in 1975 by Sen. H.L. (Bill) Richardson (now retired). Richardson continues to serve as the Chairman of Gun Owners of America, bringing his many years of political experience to the leadership of GOA. Richardson is also an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
The GOA Board of Directors brings over 100 years of combined knowledge and experience on guns, legislation and politics. GOA's Board is not satisfied with the "status quo." Americans have lost some of our precious gun rights and WE WANT THEM BACK! This is why GOA is considered the "no compromise" gun lobby. From state legislatures and city councils to the United States Congress and the White House, GOA represents the views of gun owners whenever their rights are threatened.
The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) is dedicated to promoting a better understanding about our Constitutional heritage to privately own and possess firearms. To that end, we carry on many educational and legal action programs designed to better inform the public about the gun control debate.
AFA has taken a NO-COMPROMISE position by calling for the repeal of ALL gun laws back to and including NFA 34. AFA is serious about restoring our Rights as originally intended by our Founding Documents. If you're looking for a women's organization to exchange cooking recipes, talk about child rearing or stitchery, then this is not the place for you.
Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership mission is to destroy "gun control" and to encourage Americans to understand and defend all of the Bill of Rights for everyone. Those are the twin goals of Wisconsin-based Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO). Founded by Jews and initially aimed at educating the Jewish community about the historical evils that Jews have suffered when they have been disarmed, JPFO has always welcomed persons of all religious beliefs who share a common goal of opposing and reversing victim disarmament policies while advancing liberty for all.
In 1978 Knox moved to Washington D.C. in order to lobby against gun control measures, and work for the National Rifle Association. He would go on to serve four years as the Executive Director of the Institute for Legislative Action, which is the lobbying arm of the NRA. At NRA, Knox was instrumental in convincing friendly lawmakers to introduce a reform of the 1968 Gun Control Act. The bill became the Firearm Owners Protection Act, which eventually passed in 1986.
From 1984 until his death, Knox was the chairman of the Firearms Coalition, an organization that he created, which lobbies against restrictive gun laws.

Doctors for Responsible Gun Ownership (DRGO) is a project of the Claremont Institute launched in 1994. Headed by Dr. Timothy Wheeler, a southern California surgeon, DRGO has become a nationwide network of more than 1,400 physicians, allied health professionals, and others who support the safe and lawful use of firearms.
The SECOND AMENDMENT SISTERS, Inc. came about when a group of women decided they had enough: Enough of the distortion, enough of the misrepresentation, enough of the reproach from the anti-Second Amendment crowd. Learning of the Million Mom March (currently the Bell Campaign, now merging with Handgun Control, Inc.) was the last straw.

Doctors for Sensible Gun Laws mission is to educate our fellow doctors and their patients, the public, about gun laws that are counterproductive and the deceitful tactics of those who advocate gun control. We offer a healthy dose of common sense to the national gun debate by shedding light on what gun laws are sensible, and which ones most certainly are not.
CATO Institute - CCW Laws and the Crime Rate: 31 States now have laws allowing individuals to carry concealed handguns. In the most careful scientific study of such laws yet done, which will be published in the Journal of Law and Economics in January, John Lott finds that concealed-carry laws deter violent crimes and produce no increase in accidental deaths. In an advance look at his findings, he argued at this forum that if more states had such laws, thousands of murders could be prevented.
Mothers Arms (MA) is a new organization dedicated to helping keep women and children safe by mobilizing women through education and training. Mothers must learn to protect themselves and their children through the use of safety rescue tools, knowing their rights about self defense, and self protection preparation and disaster planning.

The National Association of Firearms Retailers The National Shooting Sports Foundation has started a new trade group for firearms retailers. The National Association of Firearms Retailers is open to any professional firearms retailer and provides representation in Congress, media training, employee training and legal defense information to its members. This is an important development given the recent legal attacks brought by anti-gun politicians in conjunction with trial lawyers seeking a huge payoff from the firearms industry.
