Survival Station. Here is what the "President" says about himself and this blog:
Having grown up in the Cold War era when a bomb shelter in your basement and an American flag in your garage was commonplace, I have always had an interest in disaster preparedness. This mantra was furthered by my association with the Boy Scouts of America as a young boy. Always be prepared!
I was in my late teens when the Russian threat brought us the movie “Red Dawn.” I’m not a big Patrick Swayze fan but I knew after seeing that movie that my life would be dedicated to fighting for American freedom and shouting “Wolverines!” from atop Partisan Rock.
Growing up in the Northeast, there isn’t much in the way of natural disasters other than the occasional snowstorm to inconvenience life. All that changed on August 29th, 2005 when Hurricane Katrina made landfall. Shortly after, I left all that I had known to travel to Mississippi and then Louisiana hoping that my small contribution to help rebuild the Gulf Coast would have a positive impact on the lives of my fellow man.
Having seen firsthand the awsome destructive power of nature made me realize how woefully unprepared the residents of the Gulf coast were. Battered by nature, befuddled by the government and befriended by thousands of volunteers, it was then that I decided to help my fellow Americans prepare for whatever may come and Survival Station was born.
By offering not only self defense and preparedness products but also information and reviews on those products, my goal is to build a community of like-minded individuals who will help their fellow man in times of need with moral, financial and physical contributions.
