Be a Rasterbator!

The Rasterbator creates huge, rasterized images from any picture. Upload an image, print the resulting multi-page pdf file and assemble the pages into extremely cool looking poster up to 20 meters in size.

Rasterbating, sometimes known as tiled printing, is a feature of many computer programs that enables them to print images larger than a standard page. The program overlays a grid on the printed image in which each cell (or tile) is the size of a printed page and then prints each tile. A person can then arrange the tiles to reconstruct the full image.

The Rasturbator site allows you to upload an image, process it, download it as a PDF file, print it out, and then paste the pages together to make a larger image. You may also download the program -- it is free.

The Ruger Collectors' Association

http://www.rugercollectorsassociation.com/inc/img/logo.gif

The RCA, co-founded in 1975 by the late Stephen K. Vogel (Bill Ruger's son-in-law) and John R. Hansen, Jr.,  is an independent organization of Ruger collectors, not affiliated with or sponsored by Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. The association is dedicated to the study and preservation of Ruger firearms and memorabilia while promoting camaraderie and fellowship among those interested in collecting and exchanging information about these firearms.

It is the 2nd oldest NRA affiliated collectors' organization.

The RCA publishes a quarterly journal, known as The Ruger Collectors' Journal, and regularly displays at the NRA and other major shows. From time to time special issues of Ruger firearms have been produced for and purchased by the RCA, and offered exclusively to its members.

There are forums where the experts gather to answer questions about Ruger products and these should be the first places information seekers should head.

Colt22: The Colt Woodsman Page

http://www.colt22.com/wmhomepagetop.gif

Bob Rayburn literally wrote the book on the Woodsman. His site is the best I have found for parts, information and exploded views for these great old pistols. My Dad owned one and I have owned several. There is no modern handgun that can match these for aesthetics and performance.

Wayne Driscoll Miniature Firearms

CETMEwNRAMedal.jpg
This 1/4 scale CETME rifle won NRA silver medal # 72 at the National rifle Association Annual Meetings on May 16, 2010!!!
This is one of the neatest miniatures I have ever seen!  It is a fully functional 1/4 scale CETME rifle made at the Spanish government arsenal in Spain.  The CETME rifle was developed by the Spanish arsenal to be their front line battle rifle.  It was in .308 caliber.  H & K later developed the select fire HK G3 and the semi-automatic HK-91 from this rifle.  100% fully functional, it comes complete with the original case and 17 rounds of machined brass dummy ammunition.  You can load the magazine and it will feed, chamber, extract, and eject.  This is a select fire weapon and the selector and safety both work.

Price:  $4,000.00

-------------------
Wayne Driscoll Miniature Firearms specializes in buying and selling museum quality rifles, pistols, shotguns, cannons, knives, and related items. Their website is loaded with lovely things I can't afford to buy, but at least I can drool over the MANY pictures.

Sniper Country: Updated Post

http://www.snipercountry.com/graphics/sc_cover.jpg

Sniper Country is the place to go for any information on the practice or history of sniping and accurate long range shooting. There are many pertinent articles, links and forums.

It is dedicated to the advancement, education and history of the military and law enforcement sniper. It is not a site for the immature or the politically militant.  It supports the PROPER use of snipers within the law enforcement community and will always champion their use within the armed services.  A trained sniper has the ability to SAVE more lives than he will ever take in the course of his legally assigned duties.

Civilians have always been welcome on this site because they feel that part of the message it presents needs to go to them.  Snipers have long been misunderstood, vilified and even placed into the realm of myth.  The Hollywood edition of the long-range marksman is seldom accurate and often based in a supposed evil nature or heroics bordering on mythology.

The Box of Truth

 http://www.theboxotruth.com/images/logo.gif

The purpose of the Box O' Truth is to test the penetration of various rounds in various media.

There is only one way to know how much a certain round penetrates. You must shoot it into a medium and see for a fact.

That is what this specialist site does. From windshields (in both directions) to books to car doors and padlocks and in calibers from .22 to .45-70, they have tested penetration and bullet performance.

There are also tests of tactical lioghts and other self-defense related products.

The site is not updated regularly, but what is posted is interesting.

Double Guns and Other Guns

Double Barreled Shotguns, Side by Side Shotgun, SxS GameGuns

DoubleGunShop: Specializing in - Double Guns (SxS Shotguns), Double Rifles, Drillings & Combination Guns

Double Guns - or double barreled shotguns are typically acquired for hunting, sport shooting & gun collecting. These two barreled shotguns can be either Side by Side (SxS) or Over and Under (O&U). American, European & British SxS shotguns or gameguns are very popular with field hunters and gun collectors, while O&U shotguns are used mostly by target shooters.
Double Rifles- Double Rifles can be either “side by side” (SxS) or “Over and Under” (O&U). Large bore double rifles are typically used for hunting dangerous big game and for sport shooting competitions. These competitions simulate big game hunting. SxS and O&U Double Rifles are fun to shoot and are very collectable.
Drillings - The Drilling is a European hunting gun with Three barrels. Typical Drillings have 2 Shotgun Barrels over a Rifle Barrel. However, Drillings have been made in many configurations (rifle & shotgun) and caliber’s. Drilling guns are typically used for mixed bag hunting.
Combination Guns - Combination Guns feature two barrels typically in an over & Under configuration. (Side by Side Combination guns are called “Cape Guns”) The barrels are always one rifle and one shotgun. These over and under guns are very versatile and typically used for European type mixed bag hunting..

HARC-MCRRS: The Historic Arms Resource Centre Miniature-Calibre Rifle Research Site for classic British & Commonwealth small-bore training and target rifles, with a good selection of relevant examples from other Nations. In this case, Small Bore refers to the .22 rimfire and this is the best site I have found for Lee/Enfield/Martini/etc. Heavily illustrated, there are a lot of pertinent links, excerpts and articles. There is a Google search link for this site that makes the information easily accessible.

GunBlast

http://www.gunblast.com/images/GunblastHeader16.jpg

GunBlast is a web-zine (online magazine) for firearm aficionados, written, photographed, and maintained by Greg, Jeff and Boge Quinn, three brothers from Tennessee. It is down to earth, mildly redneck, very independent and quite refreshing in this age of praising the products of advertisers.

Reviews, previews & video reviews of various guns seem to be well done. There are a ton of related site links and ads, and the site averages around 17,000 visitors a day.
