Lego Gear Ratio Calculator


This Gear Calculator is for Lego gearheads that do serious building with them. It lets you select the specific pairs of gears you want to use and then gives you the gear ratio, speed and torque increases/decreases, and tells you how many times the follower gear rotates per each revolution of the driver gear. When you select multiple gear pairs, it gives you the ratings for each pair and the total speed, torque and revolution changes.

Select the drive motor and the calculator shows the probable output speed and torque of your setup.

The site also has a pulley ratio calculator that functions just like the gear calculator. Obviously some of this will apply to any pulley system.
